It Takes a Village

Dior was the beloved puppy of a lady who had adopted the energetic girl with dreams of being companions for the next 15 years or so. She enrolled Dior into training classes and made sure that Dior received her puppy shots and had everything she needed. She was her pride and joy. Sadly, life doesn’t always go as planned and dreams were shattered when Dior’s owner was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

She reached out to Transitions Pet Care to ask for temporary foster care while she went through treatment for her brain tumor. Sadly, shortly after she dropped Dior off, she realized that she wouldn’t be able to take Dior back. Transitions Pet Care began the process to get Dior ready for adoption. We made an appointment to have Dior spayed, as well as, microchipped, and made sure she had monthly flea and heartworm preventative. All of this was possible because of the generous grant from Second Life.

Transitions Pet Care listed Dior for adoption, but weeks went by with no interest. The Founder at Transitions Pet Care reached out to Doggie Harmony for help with placing Dior in a good home. Doggie Harmony was able to contact a partner rescue in New York. Dior was accepted by the rescue and was transported to New York where she was immediately adopted into a loving home.
