Bailey is a 7yr old Beagle who was adopted by an older couple who have always been a fan of the breed. They were living in a retirement home and wanted a dog to dote over.
Sadly, about a year after adopting Bailey, the husband passed away. Now, more than ever did her owner, newly widowed, need her comfort and companionship as she grieved the loss of her husband of 50 years.
Her owner was also experiencing pain in her hips and had to start using a walker to get around. Her friends noticed that she wasn't able to walk Bailey, contacted Transitions Pet Care for help and daily walks were set up for Bailey. A couple months after walks began, her owner announced that she is having a hip replacement surgery and was hopeful after surgery, she would be able to walk Bailey on her own again.
Transitions Pet Care was able to provide a foster home for Bailey while her owner recovered and brought Bailey for visits to help lift her owner's spirits. Unfortunately, her owner continued to decline and required more care. The difficult decision to rehome Bailey was made and Transitions Pet Care was able to find a wonderful adopter. Her was incredibly sad, but was comforted knowing that her best friend was in a loving home and peacefully passed away a couple of months later.
